Who is the tallest person in the world?

The tallest person in recorded history was Robert Wadlow, who measured 8 feet 11 inches (2.72 m) tall. He was born in Alton, Illinois in the United States in 1918 and was already 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m) by the time he turned eight years old. His extreme height was due to a condition known as hyperplasia of the pituitary gland, which caused his body to continuously produce growth hormones throughout his life. Despite his size, Robert was known to be a gentle and kind person, and even used his fame to raise money for charity. Sadly, he passed away at the young age of 22 due to an infection caused by a blister on his foot.
