Who invented football?

The modern sport of football, known as soccer in some countries, was not invented by a single person but rather evolved over time through a combination of various games and sports. However, the earliest documented rules for a game resembling football come from England in the mid-19th century. The rules, which were established in 1863 by the newly formed Football Association, helped standardize the game and make it more widely recognized. As football continued to develop and spread around the world, various other rules and adaptations were made, leading to the many different forms of the sport that exist today.
